Mountain bikes are constructed in a way that they help anyone to explore the rugged and uneven terrains, and mountains, but by being constantly driven on such tracks, they become more prone to damage, wear, and tear. There are obviously signs that show that your MTB needs immediate servicing after you have returned from mountain bike tours.

Gears are Not Smooth

Gears help you manage the speed, and it becomes even more important when you are riding on mountains or uneven terrains. It should switch smoothly, and if you notice that switching gears is taking extra effort or time, it is a sign that you need immediate servicing. Also, if you are noticing loud noises when you are applying pressure, don’t wait for the situation to get worse.

The Seat is No Longer Flexible

The mountain bike’s seat is designed in a way that it can easily be adjusted and is flexible enough to move the way you want to. If you are changing its position and it is just not happening and reaching the same position, take this into consideration and get your bike serviced at the first instance you get a chance. An uncomfortable seat and position cannot just ruin your riding experience, but also inflict pain in your back and thighs.

Unusual Noise

When you are riding your bike, and you notice an unusual noise coming from your bike, then do not wait further and take it for servicing. Mountain bikes do make noise, but they are usually familiar, and you can easily differentiate between the usual and unusual ones. The noise can be a sign of damaged brakes, a broken drivetrain, and other issues you may not be familiar with.

Mountain bikes go through some of the extreme paths, and they require more attention and regular servicing than a regular bike. It is also more prone to damage, and looking out for the signs can help you curb the damage much earlier.
